Ayushmann Khurrana wants to challenge himself

Ayushmann Khurrana has become successfully well known for his acting and also singing.  He has sung for films such as ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012), ‘Nautanki Saala!’ (2013) and also done some of his own work.

According to Hindustan Times, the multi-talented artiste wants to set himself further challenges and experiment with his singing.  He was recently in the US and also performed in the UAE.

He is quoted as having said, “The magic really happens when you do something different and challenging. I’d like to try different genres. I would like to challenge myself, not just as an actor but also as a singer. I should try out rock and hip-hop as well. That will be interesting.”

Continuing, he said, “Today, Bollywood music not only includes hip-hop, but also rock and electronic dance music. However, there is more scope in independent music. I still think the independent music circuit is quite niche [in India]. It has to create that mass euphoria, which will be interesting to witness,” and commented on composing, “An idea can strike you anywhere, anytime. You will be surprised, most of the times I’ve composed songs, I’ve been on a plane. I think about a melody and just save it on my recorder.”

Khurrana likes to sing wherever he is and on his travels also, “There is no disturbance [on a flight] — no cell phones ringing. Recently, I bought a travel guitar from the US. I carry it most of the time with me. So, I can compose a song anytime… But yes, it’s got to do with solitude. When there is no distraction, you can get more creative ideas.”
