Ayushmann Khurrana thinks two-hero films are good to do

Ayushmann Khurrana says that it is possible for a film to have two male leads if the script is right and would happily be apart of a film which stars two heroes.

In an interview with Times Of India, Khurrana talks about how he has never done a two-hero film and working with Rajkummar Rao in his recent release ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017). “I’ve never done a two-hero film and its okay to do it. In ‘Vicky Donor’, Anu Kapoor, I thought, had a more author-backed role than me. But he wasn’t my contemporary, Rajkummar is. But if the script is good, then why not. Once in a while, it’s good to do a two hero film.”

He continues to say how he put Rao’s name forward and knew that he would receive the most rave reviews, which he was perfectly fine with. “I love him (Rajkummar) as a person and an actor. I was the one who suggested his name for the character. His role is more author-backed than mine. I knew he will get all the good reviews for acting in the film.”

Khurrana further added, “I won’t be surprised if they said ‘he stole the show’ because his role is like that, transition from a meek to an aggressive guy. I trigger that change but he is doing it.”

‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ released in cinemas on Friday.
