Ayushmann Khurrana on life after success of ‘Vicky Donor’
John Abraham’s debut production, ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012), saw the introduction of Ayushmann Khurrana into B-town. The movie has proved to be a huge success and it seems life might have changed for the young TV anchor.
In a recent interview with the Times of India, Khurrana spoke about how he deals with additional female attention since making his debut, “I just focus on my work. I don’t crave for attention from girls. I was popular even when I was doing theatre in college”.
Khurrana also lent his vocals to ‘Paani Da Rang’, a song from ‘Vicky Donor’. When asked about whether he sees a future in singing, he comments, “I’ve been composing songs since I was in Chandhigarh. I had composed a song few years ago, but I was waiting for the right time to sing in films”.
He also divulges about whether he felt a little apprehensive in doing his first movie with sperm donation as the main theme, “There is a major revolution happening in Bollywood. All kinds of films are working – low budget films, parallel cinema, commercial cinema or realistic films. It is a good time for newcomers and talented actors”. In ‘Vicky Donor’, the character he plays makes a career out of donating sperm.
It seems Khurrana is one other in a line of VJs who have made a successful transition from TV to films. Other noteable names are Mahima Chaudhary and Amrita Arora.
