Ayushmann Khurrana: “I am meant for unconventional films”

Ayushmann Khurrana says he is more suited to unconventional roles instead of the routine ones. Should he be offered the latter, he would be a bit sceptical in accepting.

In a recent interview with the Times Of India, Khurrana who made his debut in ‘Vicky Donor’ (2015), a film about being a sperm donor, explains that he is best suited to unconventional roles because he believes this is his niche. “I think I am meant for unconventional films, which is why I will be sceptical if choosing any conventional films. I think we all have to carve our own niche in the cinema industry. And these kinds of films work for me – whether it is ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ and now ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’.”…”These are quirky subjects. These films show a mirror to the society.” Khurrana added.

For his next release ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ releases on the 1st September, this time the topic addressed in the film is about erectile dysfunction and premarital sex.
