Ayushmann Khurrana today stated that the success of ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ (2015) made him credible as an actor. The film has been selected as the Best Hindi Film at the 63rd National Film Awards.
“I think I got the respect and credibility as an actor after ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ because in my first film ‘Vicky Donor’ I was playing myself, a Punjabi,” Khurrana told IANS.
He further went on to say, “In ‘Dum Laga Ke_’ I had to change my dialect and body language. I have never stayed in Uttar Pradesh. Khari boli (dialect) was not that easy. It was not coming naturally to me and I was playing completely somebody else. So ‘Dum Laga Ke_’ got me respect as an actor.”
Khurrana will be seen next opposite his ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ co-star Bhumi Pednekar in ‘Manmarziyan’ as well as in ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ for which he is paired with Parineeti Chopra for the first time.
