Ayushmann Khurrana: “I am not such a desi guy”

Ayushmann Khurrana, a super talented actor who has played many charming guy next door roles, has always struck a chord with the audiences and fans. All his films from his debut, ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012) to his most recent release, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ (2017) have been appreciated both by the audiences and critics.

Bombay Times reports that it now seems that Khurrana is enthusiastic that his upcoming film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, belongs to an entirely different genre to his previous films. Khurrana reportedly wants film directors to “take out something entirely radical” from him, and he hopes that in Raghavan’s film, audiences will see a new side to him.

In an interview with a daily newspaper, Khurrana said, “I’d love to work with directors from diverse genres and challenge myself as an actor. I really wish that directors make me get out of my comfort zone. I’d love to do an out-and-out urban film such as ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (2015), because I am an urban guy. Whatever parts I’ve played till now aren’t me, as I am not such a desi guy. I, in fact, started out as a VJ for a music channel, who was a completely urban guy. I still haven’t done a film that explores my urban side.”
