Ayan Mukerji is perhaps a perfect example of Bollywood’s generation next. Having directed his first film, ‘Wake Up Sid’, in 2009, he is all set to bring yet another youthful story to the screen in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. In a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, he was asked about the relationship now shared by ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

“They make a wonderful couple on screen. They are both at the top of their game. Off screen, none of the relationship baggage was on the table. I have known Ranbir when he was in a relationship with Deepika and I can tell you, they have moved on. Today they are really great friends,” said Mukerji.

He went on to express his thoughts about the jodi who share a unique sense of friendship now that is not always the case when two people – especially those in the public eye – have been in a relationship with one another, “Now that you say it_ yes. There were some controversial statements on Karan۪s show as well. Deepika and Ranbir never went down quietly. It is a really amazing place for both of them to have reached. Great for our movies that they are working together. The curve is changing in subtle ways”.

‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ is slated for release on 31st May. Check out the film’s trailer:Trailer.
