Avtar Lit named director at Jeo Radio

Avtar Lit, the founder of Sunrise Radio, has returned to UK Asian radio by launching Jeo Radio in North London.

Lit stepped out of the spotlight in 2014 when Sunrise Radio went into administration. The then Sunrise Radio and Kismat Radio frequencies were acquired by the Lyca Group (now named Lyca Radio and Lyca Gold). Lit’s son, Tony Lit then took charge of Sunrise Radio, while Avtar moved to India.

It now seems Jeo Radio will be a second innings for Avtar, as he teams up with Sarita Sabharwal (former Sunrise Radio and Lyca Radio presenter).

While, Avtar Lit’s appointment as Director of Jeo Radio was made on 1st September 2022, details were sketchy about the station’s plans. It has now rolled out its schedule with former Sunrise Radio and Lyca Radio presenter, Tony Patti taking the Breakfast show, followed by Asif Ghazali at 10:00, Sabharwal at 13:00 and Lit himself taking the Drivetime slot.

Jeo Radio replaced Asian FX Radio in North London on AM. It is also available on DAB across Greater London and online.
