Popular youth Asian radio station is being revived for a permanent slot on the new DAB+ platform.

Previously, Asian FX has been available on standard DAB platforms in various parts of the UK. It then relaunched earlier this year as an online service as an Urban Asian station. It is expected to keep a similar sound when it is added on DAB+ next week and will be the only Asian radio station available in stereo format in London.

Asian FX’s sister station, Panjab Radio continues to do well as the most listened to Punjabi service in the UK. Panjab Radio joined the second national multiplex earlier this year and has a weekly reach of nearly 100,000 listeners in London.

Surjit Singh Ghuman MBE, Managing Director, Panjab Radio & Asian FX said, “There’s demand in the London market for a young Asian commercial radio station, for a mix of Urban, Bhangra and Bollywood entertainment station.”

Asian FX launches on DAB+ London on Tuesday 13th December.
