Asian FX Radio set for re-launch in UK

Panjab Radio Group’s youth music station, Asian FX is set for a revival later this month, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.

BizAsiaLive.com understands that the plans are being kept underwraps until an official announcement next week. The station is expected to launch in Greater London, Manchester and Glasgow simultaneously this month.

Asian FX Radio was put to rest after it lost out to Sunrise Radio in an AM frequency tussle last year. The new station will be the group’s younger offering as an alternative to flagship station, Panjab Radio, which targets an older audience. Panjab Radio has this week expanded nationally on the new Digital 2 multiplex. Asian FX will take the local multiplexes left vacant by Panjab Radio.

Asian FX Radio’s output will consist of Asian/Urban music including Bollywood, Bhangra and R’n’B.
