Asia World TV launch delayed ’til early 2005

India’s answer to the National Geographic Channel, Asia
World TV has postponed its launch. Speaking exclusively
to Biz Asia, an insider has told us that plans to launch
the new factual and documentary Asian TV channel will
now not take place until “early 2005”.

The channel, which will broadcast free-to-air on the Sky
Digital platform will also telecast movies from the 50s
and 60s. Channel officials have been spending a lot of
time in India to finalise programming and an official
announcement of the channel’s launch will take place at
a press conference next month.
