Ashutosh Gowariker’s wife chose Pooja Hegde?

Actress Pooja Hegde is soon to make her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in the forthcoming ‘Mohenjo Daro’, all thanks to director Aushtosh Gowariker’s wife.

Whist talking to the media, Gowarikar was reported by��Times of India, explaining the kind of person he wanted for the part, “During scripting, I had envisioned a new face for the character of Chaani because I wanted someone without an image or perception attached to her. It had to be someone who depicted grace, dignity and strength, but yet had a girl-like naive innocence.”

Talking about how his wife Sunita Gowarika suggested the actress, the filmmaker went on to say, “It was actually Sunita who first noticed Pooja in a TV commercial. She immediately felt that Pooja had a certain screen presence, which once I saw the commercial, even I felt.”

Gowariker was all praise for the actress, “She was extremely quick on the uptake, took direction very well and was completely aligned with the character that I had in my mind.”

‘Mohenjo Daro’ is set to hit the big screens on 12th August.
