ARY One World to timeshare with The Muzik

ARY Digital’s news and current affairs channel ARY One World has made a surprise return on the Sky Digital EPG today.

ARY One World closed down in the UK in July of this year due to reasons undisclosed. Industry insiders suggested lack of commercial interest being the reason behind the closure.

However, officials at ARY Digital confirmed today that One World was being relaunched in the UK on a timeshare basis on the same EPG as sister channel The Muzik. The latter is available on Sky EPG 806.

ARY One World will be available at the following times daily:
07:00 – 11:00
14:00 – 00:00

The Muzik will continue with its own broadcast outside the times listed above.

In September, ARY suffered a setback when media regulator Ofcom found One World in breach of UK rules and regulations. ARY One World, which is shown directly live unedited from Pakistan was censored for carrying Pakistan sponsor brands during news bulletins, which is prohibited in the UK.

Since the recent political crisis in Pakistan, viewers have been in the need for the latest breaking news from back home. Whilst ARY One World’s news bulletins being aired on flagship channel ARY Digital, it was facing stiff competition from rolling news service Geo UK. The decision to reinstate ARY One World is no doubt to rival Geo’s latest UK addition Geo News International.
