ARY Network’s Sky EPG slots yet to be sold

The three lucrative EPG slots of ARY Network on the Sky platform are yet to be sold, BizAsiaLive.com can reveal.

ARY Network had three prominent slots – high up on the Sky EPG line-up with ARY Digital on EPG 791, ARY News on EPG 802 and ARY QTV on EPG 803. However, all three services were shutdown after the company went into liquidation. The EPG slots, which are expected to fetch thousands, if not millions of pounds, have been in the midst of bidding war.

BizAsiaLive.com understands that the auction for the three EPG slots is still underway and a buyer for each of the slots, could be confirmed as early as next week. It is not yet known if one buyer will take all three slots or if they will be individually sold.

A couple of weeks ago, BizAsiaLive.com had revealed that The EPG Shop had been appointed to sell the slots. Nick Doff from The EPG Shop had said, “The Liquidator has appointed The EPG Shop to market and manage the sale. We will sell to the rivals of ARY, or to anyone that is ready to buy now with a broadcasting license. This is a unique occasion, premium positions on Pages 2, 3 and 4 of the Sky EPG, all available now. I expect the major operators to pile in and snap them up, but who knows. Possibly a smaller operator will make a cheeky bid for what was ARY Digital on 791. This should be worth £4-800k, it may end up going for the lower end of that estimate, a great buy for someone. I am fielding interest from the UK, Dubai, India and Pakistan, who knows where this will lead!”
