Arture Connect 2015 aims to link fashion spectrum across UK & India

Arture Connect 2015 400x

Unique cross-border fashion event provides platform for designers and artists from Europe and India to showcase their creations.

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” – Coco Chanel was once quoted as saying.

A unique new international fashion event is now aiming to put the legendary French fashion auteur۪s words across the continents.

Arture Connect 2015۪ aims to provide a platform for fashion designers from Europe and India to showcase their wares whilst encouraging the vast array of artists and designers who work in fashion from make-up artists through graphic designers to digital marketers to use the event to innovate, inform and be inspired.

Whilst fashion weeks are dime a dozen these days, it is believed ArtureConnect۪ is the first of its kind to offer such a wide spectrum for designers and artists to explore and promote their art.

Each segment of ArtureConnect۪ will feature lifestyle, music and other design exhibits, conferences featuring speakers from the worlds of design, marketing, international trade and business and exclusive catwalk shows.

The event kicks off on 3rd October with a two-day soiree at the plush Taj Vivanta hotel in Delhi۪s historic Khan Market sector with a host of activities, including live۝ mannequins models mingling with guests dressed in the works of designers as well as live demos, photo shoots and networking.

ArtureConnect then moves to London on 17th October for another two-day extravaganza, at the prestigious London College of Contemporary Arts followed by exhibition and conference at the much acclaimed Anglia Ruskin University on 24th and 25th October 2015. Arture Connect ends on high note in one of the great fashion capitals of the world – Mumbai on 31 October 2015.

ArtureConnect is the brainchild of Preeti Gaikwad and her team at TwoCorners, an organization which finds and collaborates with young, up and coming artists, promoting and encouraging their work.

Preet said: We have been analysing the opportunities and working closely with the artists and designers from India for over two years now and see a massive potential for cross border collaborations. With an industry growing at the rate of 20% per annum, it is important to recognise unique designs and support the designers to create a market for the same. We will be actively promoting new designers and artisans at Arture Connect 2015.۝

That cross-border relationship between the UK and India has never been more pertinent given that 2015 marks the 400th anniversary of the beginning of formal Anglo-Indian relations.

Arture Connect has been commended by well-known artists like Brinda Miller, Naresh Kapuria, Jaya Baheti and many more iconic designers from the UK and India.

The event is also backed and supported by the likes of Cambridge Style Week, the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, IG2N IT Services and the London College of Contemporary Arts.
