Arrest warrant issued against ‘Ram-Leela’ cast and crew

Ramleela

Despite the film having been released last year, Sanja Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ramleela’ (2013), has landed itself into trouble with the Mumbai local court.

According to NDTVan arrest warrant has been issued against actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as well as Bhansali himself, on the charges that a few of the films scenes harm some Hindu ideologies. Reports have it that the films music team have also been issued warrants.

As ordered by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) SP Singh to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, the actors and crew are set to appear in court on June 4.

The warrants have been made in relation to a complaint filed by the defenderSudhir Kumar Ojha, in November which stated that a few scenes from the film hurt religious Hindu views. Though the Mumbai High Court attempted the release date of the film to be delayed to November 22, 2013, the film hit the big screens on November 12 of the same year.

Apparently the CJM had ordered those involved to appear in court on February 14, of whom none showed up, hence being issued the arrests now.
