Arnab Goswami’s upcoming TV channel Rupublic has been christened as ‘Republic TV’.
According to News18, the channel has submitted a new application with Union for Information & Broadcasting under the name ‘Republic TV’.
Earlier, the soon-to-launch channel hit a stumbling block after BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had objected to the name as just ‘Republic’. He claimed it would be violative of the Emblems Act, 1950. It is not known if the decision was taken after calls by Swami.
Goswami was previously at Times Now.
