Prakash Jha’s ‘Chakravyuh’ will be Arjun Rampal in the role of a policeman. Although the filmis aboutNaxalism, Rampal has said the film is about friendship.
The film will also star Abhay Deol, according to Hindustan Times. Rampal reveals, “This is an extremely topical film as it۪s set against the backdrop of Naxalism, yet,it۪s a beautiful story about two friends”. He described the character he plays, “He is strict and loyal, a man who has strong ideological beliefs and wants to do something for society. It۪s a tough film. I hope the audience doesn۪t see Arjun Rampal but Adil Khan, the cop, when the go to watch the film. If they see Arjun, I would have failed disastrously.
The actor has also bagged the role of Sher Khan in the forthcoming ‘Zanjeer’ remake which was originally played by the legendary Pran. Keeping his cards close to his chest, Rampal said, “I am not allowed to speak about the character right now. But I will start working on the project soon after I finish Chakravyuh”.
The actor will also be appearing and walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival with his wife. He says he is excited about the event and about the opportunity to build bridges between the two industries.
