Arjun Rampal sued for non-payment of Rs. 1 crore loan


Actor Arjun Rampal has reportedly landed himself in hot water and has been sued for allegedly not paying off a loan of Rs. 1 crore  which he had taken in 2018.

Hindustan Times reports that a case has been filed against Rampal in Bombay High Court by a company called YT Entertainment for not returning a loan of 1 crore rupees. Allegedly, the actor had taken the loan from YT Entertainment in May 2018 and had promised to pay off the loan within a time period of 90 days with 12 percent interest per annum, but failed to do so.

The company, through attorney Aurup Dasgupta, had filed a lawsuit against the actor however, Rampal disclosed that the issue has been cleared. “The issue has been cleared and the transaction has happened. It would make clear in court when the lawsuit comes up for hearing,” said the actor.

Rampal has facing legal action under provisions of section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 on 8th October. The report adds that he was asked to return the Rs. 1 crore loan, along with interest within 14 days. He failed to comply, resulting in a criminal complaint against the actor.
