Arjun Rampal is eagerly awaiting the sequel of his two unconventional films, ‘Rock On’ (2008) and ‘Aankhen’ (2002) both which fared well at the box office and is delighted that the audience is accepting content over formula.

Rampal, famous for his work in films such as ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007), ‘Raajneeti’ (2010) and ‘Ra.One’ (2011) believespeople are now wanting to invest in quality stories. TheMumbai Mirror reports him saying, “Cinema is changing. Audiences have also changed, they have become content-driven, they don’t want to get bored. Formula films have become redundant which is great. ‘Aankhen’ brought in a change, it was a different story.”

The sequel of ‘Aankhen’, which is yet to be given a title, will be produced by Gaurang Doshi and directed by Anees Bazmee. Rampal and Amitabh Bachchan will reprise their roles from the original, however, some new faces will be added to the mix to include superstars Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and popular actress of South-Indian cinema, Regina Cassandra.

Rampal shared, “It was an unconventional story but it was liked by audience. It was an unbelievable story of how three blind men rob a bank. It was portrayed convincingly and in real way. It was a heist film but it was a family entertainer…It took 14 years for us to make the sequel. During this time technology and VFX has changed a lot. VFX has become exciting and interesting thing today. We want to be visually appealing. We will be raising the bar with action.”
