Arjun Kapoor to play jilted lover in ‘Half Girlfriend’

Arjun Kapoor was appreciated in his role in R Balki’s ‘Ki and Ka’ (2016). Now, he’s soon to start his next film, ‘Half Girlfriend’, which takes off next month. He will be seen as a jilted lover.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Kapoor laughed, “I’ve played the angry young man, Parma, in my debut film, Ishaqzaade, followed by romantic roles in 2 States, Finding Fanny and Tevar. Now, I’ll be seen as the jilted lover in Half Girlfriend. But I’m still waiting to be seen as the ultimate lover boy, Raj from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and hopefully I’ll get to play a cool Casanova next!”

He admits that he has no plans to read the Chetan Bhagat book that the film is an adaptation of, “The script is a refined version of the book, which if I read, I’d want all of it on screen and that’s not possible. A director has a sharper vision, I like the fresh perspective”.

When asked whether he would be lending his vocals to accompany his co-star Shraddha Kapoor if it’s offered to him, Kapoor candidly says, “Are you insane? I cannot sing to save my life, never!”

‘Half Girlfriend’ is directed by Mohit Suri and will be shot in New York.
