A few months ago, BizAsiaLive.com reported that Arjun Kapoor could be seen in Anushka Sharma produced ‘Kaneda’ which would mark her third home production. However, news has it that Kapoor has opted out of the project.
It seems that Kapoor wants to play a villain and therefore is more interested in Diljit Dosanjh’s role in ‘Kaneda’ over the part he’s been offered. A source is quoted by Bollywood Life, “The film is a love triangle. Arjun was offered the part of a normal boy-next-door, something the actor isn’t keen on taking up. He conveyed that to director Navdeep Singh. After the wholesome Ki & Ka and Anees Bazmee’s upcoming comic entertainer Mubarakan, feels he is ready for negative roles”.
Interestingly, it was thought that ‘Kaneda’ was a light-hearted film but it’s nothing of the sort. Sources close to the production expressed, “Don’t know why people are referring to ‘Kaneda’ as a comedy. It is a drama and it is not as intense as ‘NH 10’ was.We can’t talk much about the film”.
Kapoor will be seen next in ‘Mubarakan’ and also ‘Half Girlfriend’.
