Arjun Kapoor clarifies on ‘Half Girlfriend’ rumours
Arjun Kapoor has publicly responded in addressing recent reports of him being unprofessional on the set of his upcoming film, Half Girlfriend۪ (2017).
BizAsia reported that rumours were flying around that the 2 States۪ (2014) star was involved with arguments with director Mohit Suri over the actor۪s alleged party bills which ran up to Rs 1 lakh per day. Kapoor feels this an attempt to show him in a bad light. When asked about these allegations he responded, according to Hindustan Times, There is some selfish reason of someone to portray me as unprofessional. Somebody is upset or jealous…If I was not a professional, that film wouldn۪t have finished by now. My father is known as one of the most serious, amazing producers. You think being a producer۪s son, I will put the other producer in jeopardy and say Yeh lo dedh lakh rupaye ka bill۪?
The reports in question state that the 31 year old actor gave to producers a bill of Rs 1 lakh after partying every night during filming which, in response, led to the breakdown in relationship with Suri. Keen in clearing this allegation, Kapoor also said, I would like to answer this question, even though I do not like to reply to ridiculous conversations. I am a producer۪s son. When that outdoor (shoot) was happening in June, my grandmother was seriously unwell… You all came later when she died while I was shooting outdoor. If I was making bills of Rs 1 lakh after drinking, there must be seriously something wrong with me and I shouldn۪t get job after this film. I was traveling back and forth everyday from Delhi to Mumbai, Mumbai to Delhi, shooting.
The one time he does admit to going out partying until the early hours was when he celebrated his birthday. It was my birthday month. I didn۪t want to do anything. But Balaji (production house) said they want to throw a party. We partied till 1 am, celebrated birthday, cut the cake… Then, we all reached for shooting at 7 in the morning. You can go and crosscheck it with Delhi Hyatt, where we shot the film, the star said.
