Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam to collaborate on new rendition of ‘Sandese Aate Hai’

Arijit Singh and Sonu Nigam are reportedly set to collaborate on a new rendition of ‘Sandese Aate Hai’, after Bhushan Kumar of T-Series acquired the rights to the iconic track from its original holders.

Reliable sources confirm that T-Series secured the rights to ‘Sandese Aate Hai 2.0’ through a standard adaptation deal, reportedly for a sum of ₹60 lakh. “’Sandese Aate Hai’ is more than just a song — it’s a national melody. ‘Border’ would be incomplete without it,” a source told Bollywood Hungama. “Bhushan Kumar and his team were determined to acquire the rights and went to great lengths to ensure it.”

“Bhushan Kumar knew exactly what he was pursuing. He recognises the emotional significance ‘Sandese Aate Hai’ holds for every Indian. It’s not just another track—it’s an anthem of national pride,” the source added.

A separate insider close to the production further noted, “This is not merely a financial investment. For Bhushan Kumar, it’s about preserving the legacy and emotional resonance of ‘Border’. Audiences can expect a modern yet soulful version that will appeal to today’s generation while paying homage to the original. The aim is not just nostalgia—we’re planning something truly special that will give audiences of all ages goosebumps. Bhushanji’s vision is clear: to make ‘Border 2’ unforgettable.”

‘Border 2’ is currently in production and is scheduled for release on Republic Day 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles.
