Archana Anand on ZEE5 Global’s “significant growth” in UK in 2022
ZEE5 Global continues to make inroads as the world’s largest streaming platform for South Asian content. With 2022 coming to a close, Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global, has been buoyant of the success of ZEE5 Global in the UK/Europe digital space.
Anand said, “2022 has been a very key year for ZEE5 Global across all markets and especially so in the UK. We are closing out the year as the leading platform for South Asian entertainment across all international markets and in the UK. We’ve also had a stellar year in our newest market, the U.S., establishing a firm presence within just 8 months of launch and today are leaders by far in the market.
“We’ve seen a significant growth of 20% in subscriptions over the year in the UK on the back of multiple partnerships, on ground events and several blockbuster content launches like RRR, The Kashmir Files, Valimai and more across various languages that attracted huge interest from not only diaspora audiences but also mainstream audiences. It’s a thrill to see South Asian content coming to the fore on the global stage, and we as ZEE5 look to be at the forefront of this charge in 2023.”
