With the kind of films she has done in her 11-year career so far, Anushka Sharma is known to have always chosen scripts that stand out. Now, as per latest reports, the star may soon be seen in a cop drama.

While details about the project, like the director and producer are being kept under wraps for now, sources say that the hard-hitting subject will present the star in an all new look, reports DNA India.

“Anushka is constantly looking for quality scripts and it seems like she has found a brilliant one that will see her play the role of a woman police officer,” says a source, adding, “This is the first time she will be seen in this avatar as she will don the khaki. The project is extremely close to her heart.”

Sharma, who was also seen in films like ‘Sanju’ and ‘Pari’ last year, is thrilled with the story and work on the script is currently underway. The source says, “Anushka has always backed projects that are strong on content and this story has just blown her away. It’s a challenging role and will require her to undergo intense prep before she begins filming. The way she works, she will be devoting a lot of time getting into the skin of her character.”
