The Indian Film Industry is full of big names getting their hands stuck into other professions, and it’s fair to say that most of them haven’t seen much success with their change in job role. However, the same can’t be said for Anushka Sharma who plunged into the world of producing and has come out on top. Though, unlike any other producer, she hadn’t expected that at all.
Also having starred in ‘NH10’ opposite Neil Bhoopalam, Sharma apparently had no expectations for the film, as a first time producer or as an actor. “It feels great that such films are being appreciated. I expected nothing from this film because that’s how I am, you just do your work, and then numbers will follow you. We didn’t expect anything, didn’t put any mark (for profits), so it’s been great,” NDTV reports the actress stating.
It’s not uncommon for actors and film makers to go an see their own films with the public (many even wear disguises so they don’t get recognised) to simply see what the reaction of their audiences really are. Sharma is no different, and went onto express how moved she was by the audience whilst watching the film with them. “I’ve seen the film with the audience and they clapped towards the end. That has never happened. So, to see people clapping at the end of the film is very satisfying,” she explained.
Directed by Navdeep Singh, ‘NH10’ is now showing at theatres, and is continuously being applauded by critics and audiences alike.
