Anushka Sharma was founded by Yash Raj Films (YRF) but she has turned to production on her own, with her brother Karnesh. The actress has recently spoken about her association with YRF and says there’s no conflict of interest between them.
“Yash Raj has a talent management wing, which is independent of their production house. They manage my work, but that doesn’t make me an in-house talent. I have been associated with Adi (Aditya Chopra, YRF boss] for many years, but when I decided to turn producer, I didn’t pick up the phone and ask him for permission. It was only when I met him [that I told him about starting my own production house). He said it was a superb idea,” said Sharma, according to Mid-Day.
Sharma also says that she doesn’t feel obligated to sign whatever YRF put her way, “Adi offers me a lot of films and I agree to do one only if I like it”.
Sharma will be seen next in her home production, ‘Phillauri’, which releases on 24th March.
