Anurag Kashyap summoned by Mumbai Police over sexual allegations

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been summoned by Mumbai Police over alleged sexual abuse claims made by actress Payal Ghosh.

News agency ANI tweeted, “Mumbai Police summons film director Anurag Kashyap (in file photo) asking him to appear at Versova Police station tomorrow at 11 am, in connection with the alleged sexual assault against actor.”

Reacting to the news, Kashyap’s lawyer Priyanka Khimani branded the allegations “baseless”. She said, “My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious and dishonest.”

Kashyap was slapped an FIR after Ghosh accused him of sexual misconduct in 2013.
