Anurag Basu teases Kartik Aaryan & Sreeleela’s romantic film but avoids revealing ‘Aashiqui’ title
Anurag Basu recently took to social media to unveil the teaser for Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s upcoming romantic film, which is widely speculated to be the third installment of the ‘Aashiqui’ franchise.
Although the teaser was shared without explicitly mentioning the title ‘Aashiqui 3’, Basu refrained from using the name of the franchise. Initially, the film was set to be co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt, with Mukesh Bhatt having produced the first two Aashiqui films.

In March 2024, Bhushan Kumar confirmed that he would be producing the film independently. There were discussions about renaming the film Tu Aashiqui Hai. However, reports suggested that Kartik Aaryan was eager to keep the film within the Aashiqui franchise. In September 2024, Mukesh Bhatt took the matter to court over the title, and the Delhi High Court ruled in his favour, prohibiting T-Series from using the Aashiqui name.
