Anurag Basu on ‘Life In a Metro’ sequel: “I just wish I could’ve made it with Irrfan”

Anurag Basu is facing a difficult decision. He currently has four stories ready to shoot but cannot pick which one to work on once things return to normal.

One of the films on Basu’s list is the sequel to ‘Life In a Metro’ (2007), which was written under the strong encouragement of Irrfan Khan. He was also the first actor to join the sequel. “I know I’ll make Metro again, I just wish I could have made it with Irrfan, too,” he told Mumbai Mirror.

Basu revealed that the Kishore Kumar biopic is also one of the scripts he has to choose between, “Too much energy and passion has been invested in it, which is why it keeps popping up,” adding that, “The family is keen to make the film, but there are lots of issues. I need support from someone to push it through. But whenever I make it, it will be with Ranbir (Kapoor).”

His upcoming film ‘Ludo’, which has been postponed due to the pandemic, is ready for release but still has no official date. “People who have watched it liked it. I remember ‘Barfi!’ (2012) for all the fun we had while making it. Jab shooting mein mazaa aata hai, toh film theek hi ban jaati hai (When shooting is fun, the film turns out well too). We had a blast during ‘Ludo’, too, there was the same synergy and energy in the team.”, Basu shared.
