Anuradha Paudwal responds to woman’s claims on being singer’s daughter

Popular 90s playback singer, Anuradha Paudwal has hit back at a Kerala woman who claimed earlier this week that the singer was her mother.

The news emerged when the 45-year-old woman identified as Karmala Modex filed a petition before a family court in Thiruvananthapuram claiming that the singer and her late husband Arun Paudwal are her biological parents.

Reports said that the woman alleged she was handed over to another couple in 1974 after just four days old, so Paudwal could focus on her singing career. She had told The Indian Express in a statement, “About four-five years ago, my foster father Ponnachan confessed on his deathbed that my biological mother was actually Anuradha Paudwal. I was told that I was four days old when I was handed over to my foster parents. Ponnachan, who was posted in the Army in Maharashtra at the time, was friends with Anuradha. Later, he got a transfer to Kerala.”

Refuting the rumours and not want to get involved in the controversy, Anuradha told DNA India, “I don’t clarify idiotic statements made by a******s! It is below my dignity. Thanks for your concern.”

Earlier, her spokesperson said, “This girl (Karmala) is a psycho. Anuradha’s daughter Kavita was born in 1974 so Karmala’s claims are false. This girl (Karmala) is mentioning Anuradha’s husband, but she doesn’t even know that he passed away a while back and if Karmala is Anuradha’s daughter, she should give Anuradha money and not demand 50 crores.”

The court hearing takes place on 27th January 2020.
