Anupam Kher opens up about Salman Khan saving his life in New York

Anupam Kher has spoken about Salman Khan saving his life during their recent trip to New York for IIFA 2017.

Reports say that Kher had blacked out as he had not eaten for a while, which impacted his health. Mid-Day reports that he refused to go hospital to avoid garnering attention from the media, instead Khan had placed call to paramedics and cajoled Kher to take help from medics.

He was cited in DNA India saying, “Firstly, it was not a heart-related ailment, meaning a heart attack as the blind item in a tabloid implied. Why so coy about it? I’ve nothing to hide. We were all together in Salman Khan’s room in New York when I had a blackout. I had not eaten anything for one-and-a-half days — big mistake — and my sugar-level had gone down dangerously.”

Talking about Khan, Kher said, “He called the paramedics, who rushed in immediately. The laws in the US about medical emergencies during international events are very strict. No one can take them lightly. I told the paramedics that I was okay, and didn’t need any further treatment. But they insisted on a full medical investigation.”

Kher added, “He not only called for medical help, but he also remained on alert all through. I am blessed to have friends like him in the film industry.”
