In an acting career spanning nearly 30 years Anupam Kher has more than proven his worth as an actor. Having appeared in many international films, Kher was recently approachedby director David O’ Russell to audition for an upcoming Hollywood film to which Kher agreed to instantly.
However, as the actor could not make the audition in person, Russell asked him to audition for the film ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ over Skype. According to an article inThe National, things didn’t go smoothly at first.
“It was a disaster…I am not technically savvy and I had no idea how to use Skype. I was upset, so was the director as he could not hear me,” said Kher.
Kher was desperately trying to audition over Skype at a hotel in Rajasthan, when a room service attendant stepped in and saved the day.
“I have an iPhone, I will do your audition,” he said, in reference to the attendant. “He held it up and said action۪ and cut۪. I sent it to my casting director complete,” concluded Kher.
Thank’s to the hotelattendant’s quick thinking, Kher bagged the part.
‘Silver Linings Playbook’ will see Kher share screen space with the likes of Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Julia Stiles and Jennifer Lawrence.
