Club Asia has been nominated as the best community radio station for this year?s Urban Music Awards.

The nomination comes only a week after Club Asia won the prestigious HSBC Star-up Starts award where the station was named the best new business in the UK beating off 600 other businesses.

The Urban Music Awards was born out of the need to build a worldwide and independent awards ceremony to recognise the achievement of British based artists, producers, club nights, DJ?s , radio stations, record labels and artist.

The Co-founder and Creative Director of Club Asia 963+972AM, Sumerah Ahmad says, ?it?s fabulous for Club Asia to be recognised within an awards that is representative of urban culture. Then also to be the first Asian radio station to receive a nomination makes it more special. It?s a huge boost for the whole team, and naturally we hope we win?.

Club Asia joins other nominees such as MTV Base, Lethal B, Raghav, Jay Sean, Maxi Priest and Jamelia in this year?s awards which will be held on Friday 4th November. To vote Club Asia as your favourite station visit www.clubasiaonline.com
