Ankit Tiwari’s discharge plea in rape case rejected

Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari’s discharge plea in the 2014 rape case has been rejected by a special women’s court.

It was in 2014, Tiwari was arrested and later granted bail for allegedly raping a woman.

According to Deccan Chronicle, Tiwari had moved the court with an application on 28th April, in which he said that the victim’s allegations to the police and in the FIR are different.

Tiwari has always maintained that his relationship with the complainant was consensual. Furthermore, claims that she never drunk liquour were not true because he worked in the advertising industry. She has alleged that he raped her between October 2012 and December 2013.
