After two months of challenges and community living in rural India, ZEE TV’s reality series ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’ concluded its first season this weekend with actress Anita Hassanandani being announced as the winner.

Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the finale marked the end of a season that showcased celebrity contestants adapting to village life and participating in traditional daily tasks.

The format tested participants through a range of activities — from milking cows and collecting water to cooking on traditional chulhas — offering viewers a glimpse into rural living while highlighting teamwork and perseverance.

The grand finale featured performances from the show’s top five finalists, along with guest appearances by Uorfi (Dolly’s sister) and Azim, Krishna Shroff’s partner, who joined in the celebration.

In a gesture of appreciation, several contestants extended support to the village families who hosted them during the show. Dolly Javed contributed ₹60,000 and a sewing machine to Kiran and her mother, Surbhi Mehra sponsored the education of Naman Naithik, Anita Hassanandani committed to funding Shaguna Bai’s grandchild’s education, Erika Packard pledged two years of schooling for Kiran Rathod’s son, and Krishna Shroff donated ₹1 lakh to support farming initiatives for Manish.

Speaking about her victory, Anita Hassanandani said, “When I agreed to be part of ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’, I knew it would push me far out of my comfort zone, but I didn’t anticipate just how much I would grow through the experience. From day one, I kept telling myself I wanted to win this for Aaravv and Rohit; they have been my biggest motivation throughout. Every time I struggled or missed home, I thought of them and pushed myself harder. Today, holding this trophy feels surreal. It’s not just my win; it’s our win as a family. This journey has been raw, emotional, humbling and truly unforgettable; I’ll carry these lessons with me forever.”
