Her filmography may not be full of major hits, but actress Sonam Kapoor is known to be a super hit when it comes to fashion. So it’s no surprise that she was asked to be a showstopper for a Satya Paul couture collection during the PCJ Delhi Couture week. However, when the actress couldn’t make it, her father Anil Kapoor and cousin Arjun Kapoor decided to step in and take her place.
“We are here because of Sonam. She was supposed to be here but because of some reason she could not come, so we were more than happy to come in her place,” NDTVreported her father stating.
The uncle and nephew were both showing off black sherwani and white churidar designs, designed by Satya Paul designer Masaba Gupta. Explaining how he felt about walking the ramp with his uncle, Kapoor (Arjun) expressed, “I have been a fan of this man. So it is very difficult to explain what I am feeling right now. For me sharing the same stage with him is like life coming to a full circle. When I was backstage, I could hear the crowd swelling with joy the moment he was on the ramp.”
He also went onto say, “It is a very proud moment that I can today stand at the same footing as him. It feels very surreal. I took a flight with him to come down to Delhi. I think I have spent more time with him than I have in the past few months as he was busy with his work and I have been shooting. It is a nice way to catch up with a family member.”
The reason for the actresses absence is unknown, however talking about how she is his lucky mascot and what it was like to have two other Kapoors on the ramp, Gupta stated, “Sonam is my lucky charm and anything that comes from her is great. So it was amazing to have these two men on the ramp today.I have been a fan of Anil Kapoor since I was young and I loved Arjun in ‘Ishaqzaade’ (2012).”
