Angad Bedi prepares for Gunjan Saxena biopic ‘Kargil Girl’

Angad Bedi has been a fitness enthusiast since a very young age. Having a sports family background, the actor was closely attached doing all kinds of physical fitness related activities. Bedi himself is a sports person and an athlete and understands the importance of fitness in life. Even after shifting his gears to Bollywood, he is involved doing various forms of exercises to prep for his roles as and what the character demands. Recently, he has signed a film based on the life of Gunjan Saxena in ‘Kargil Girl’, in which he plays a pivotal role during the 1999 Kargil war. Janhvi Kapoor has been roped in to play the titular role whereas Bedi will be seen playing her brother and an army officer. To play his part of an army officer, Bedi has now hired a running coach to get into the skin of his character.

Being an athlete, Bedi always a game to try various forms of exercises. For ‘Soorma’ where he was seen as a hockey player trained in cross fitness by none other Sandeep Singh’s elder brother Bikramjeet Singh. And now for this film where he will be seen donning the uniform of an army officer for the first time onscreen hired a running coach to train him for the sequences in the film that includes running on a higher altitude. Bedi didn’t want to look novice while shooting these scenes. To maintain the correct body posture without losing stamina he is being trained by a running coach who is giving him all sorts of running tips and training to maintain the correct body posture and stamina.

A source confirms, “Angad has been rigorously training with Brinston Miranda. Brinston is a well accomplished athletes having won several medals. Instead of training him in confined spaces, he took to training Angad on tough roads of Mumbai. Especially steep areas. This is done intentionally to help Angad prep for the upcoming schedule where they have scenes to shoot on higher lands and tougher terrains. This helps him build enough strength and endurance to take on the tough schedule that’s coming up”.
