Anees Bazmee against on-screen intimacy

With Anees Bazmee’s next ‘Mubarakan’ getting a clean chit from the CBFC, the filmmaker has explained why he is against on-screen kissing in his films.

In an interview cited in The Asian Age, Bazmee said, “The entire family watches my comedies, and the kids love my humour. I’ve a mother, a wife, sister and a daughter at home. I wouldn’t like to do anything in my films that would make me cringe in front of them. So sorry, no kissing in my films, ever, no matter what the requirement in the script. I agree with the censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani on this. We need to keep our films clean and wholesome because cinema is still a family event in our country.”

‘Mubarakan’ has been described as one of the cleanest comedies in recent times. ‘Mubarakan’ releases this weekend.
