Ananya Pandey makes her high society debut at Le Bal

The annual prestigious high society event Le Bal, which hosts 20 girls and 20 boys from influential families, from various nationalities, will this year see Bollywood’s very own Chunky Pandey and Bhavana Pandey’s daughter Ananya Pandey making her debut.

Le Bal which was first started in 1992, is an evening of couture, cavaliers and fundraising, hosting guests from influential families across arts, politics, business and culture.

Reported in the Hindustan Times, along with Pandey, Princess Gauravi Kumari of Jaipur will also be accompanying her to Le Bal. Details of what the pair will be wearing during their time in France have been revealed. Pandey will be dressed by Jean Paul Gaultier, while Princess Gauravi will be wearing a saree-inspired couture gown by Tarun Tahiliani. Both will be accessorised in fine jewellery by Payal New York, by the well-known name Payal Mehta.

The idea of the event is to raise funds and awareness for two causes – Enfants d’Asie: Children of Asia, which provides care for close to 10,000 children in the form of shelter, medical care and food and education, in South East Asia.

Founder of Le Bal, Ophelie Renouard who will be talking on the 25th November at The Peninsula Hotel in Paris as part of the 25th anniversary, shares her delight of having two new Indian debutantes at the event. “India is such a major player in today’s world. I am happy that for the first time, we have two debutantes from India and I would like this to happen every year.”
