With the trailer of Saina Nehwal’s biopic ‘Saina’ being released last week, director Amole Gupte has opened up about Shraddha Kapoor’s exit for the film – to be replaced by Parineeti Chopra.
“Initially we had Shraddha in the film, who was completely prepared for the role, which is why we started shooting. But then she fell ill, she got dengue which took the wind out of her”, said Gupte, in a recent interview with PTI.
He went on to add, “Since it was a sports film, she couldn’t muster the courage to come for 12 hours and stand on a badminton court while she was unwell”.
Gupte also said that Kapoor was then stepping into Remo D’Souza’s ‘Street Dancer 3D’ after Katrina Kaif opted out so they had Chopra step into ‘Saina’.
