Amitabh on son Abhishek: “We both are friends”

In the midst of promoting his recently released ‘102 Not Out’ (2018), Amitabh Bachchan caught up with fans in an online live video chat. With the film being based on a father-son relationship, Bachchan was asked about his close relationship with his own son Abhishek Bachchan.

“We both are friends. I had decided that the moment he starts borrowing my shoes, we would become friends. And that’s what we are. Now he borrows my clothes too,” Deccan Chronicle reports the veteran actor expressing.

It’s no secret that the Bachchan father and son are very close, though there have been times where they have faced people questioning why they all still look very together. When asked about how he feels when people raise this with him, Bachchan explained, “It is a very Western concept that once the child becomes eighteen, they have to move out of their parents’ house. Whatever people say on social media, I don’t care. Abhishek will be with me till my last breath. This is the Indian culture and we should follow it.”

Directed by Umesh Shukla, ‘102 Not Out’ will see Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor sharing the screen together again after 27 years since their last film ‘Ajooba’ (1991), where Bachchan will be playing Kapoor’s father.
