Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘AB Aani CD’ to move straight to online streaming

Amitabh Bachchan’s first Marathi film, ‘AB Aani CD’ in which he plays himself, was released in cinemas last month before being removed off the screens when the coronavirus lock-down was announced.

Initially, the makers had planned a re-release of the film in cinemas at some point. However, producer Akshay Bardapurkar said, “things didn’t go our way, and safety come first. Hence, we will not re-release the film as planned earlier but will look at a date when Amazon deems it fit to put it on their platform.”

Sources say that the film will now go on the OTT (over the top) platform in a few days from now to make the most of the viewership on the OTT platform being high due to the lock-down, reports The Asian Age.

Many other Bachchan films that were due to be released soon have all been pushed back. This includes ‘Chehre’ and ‘Gulabo Sitabo.’ His movie ‘Brahmastra’ was already confirmed to being pushed to the end of the year a while back.
