As a recent fan asked veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan on some advice for her documentary based on violence against women, he was very impressed and had a piece of advice to give to the filmmakers of the Indian film industry too.
Apparently, as he came back from a meeting with the young documentary maker named Kankana, Bachchan decided to share his thoughts through his blog, “It is a brave effort on her part to construct a subject through film, her first, on a subject that is so prevalent in society today, and one that needs to be addressed immediately. Good luck to her. Directors should come up with more films on real subjects.”
The film being made by Kankana, couldn’t have come at a more better time. Ever since the brutal gang rape against the 23-year-old student in Delhi caused up-roar through-out the nation, more and more cases like this are being reported. Let’s hope Kankana’s film will send a message strong enough for stronger changes in society to be made.
