Amitabh Bachchan told by Rajnikanth not play villain in ‘Robot’?

The film proved a hit with audiences, however according to reports actor Amitabh Bachchan was first approached to play the negative role in S Shankar’s ‘Robot’ (2010). However, the actor has revealed why he didn’t take up the offer.

“Shankar had come to me and he wanted me to play the villain in ‘Robot’. I called Rajini. He said, ‘People will not accept you as a villain, so don’t do it’. I said, ‘Okay’.” NDTV revealed Bachchan stating.

There were also reports of Bachchan being approached for the sequel to the film however, these were quickly dismissed.

However, the veteran has much to look forward to over the year, with the release of his ‘Wazir’ coming up in the next few weeks, Bachchan also has Ribhu Dasgupta’s ‘TE3N’ and Anees Bazmee’s ‘Aankhen 2’.
