Many of their famous hits have been ones which they have been a part of together. So it comes to no surprise that actor Amitabh Bachchan has been askedto shoot a video to celebrate his friend and co-star Shashi Kapoor being awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

As requested by Kapoor’s family, Bachchan will reflect on his time working with Kapoor and their friendship. Taking to his blog sitesrbachchan.tumblr.com the veteran actor expressed, “Shashi Kapoor wins the Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the Government of India, the National highest Award for the Industry by the system. We are all honoured by this decision. Shashi ji and I have shared so much it is difficult to imagine how we did it, now, when I look back on it, asked by his son and grandson to fill in a few moments on video for the honour event in the Capital.”

Producing super hits such as ‘Deewaar'(1975), ‘Trishul’ (1978), ‘Silsila’ (1981) and ‘Namak Halal’ (1982) to name a few, Bachchan and Kapoor share a long history. Touching on this, Bachchan went onto add, “Some thoughts and words tumble out. But nothing can give adequate expression of what we would ideally like to state. There is so much to say and remember.”

According to sources however, Kapoor himself may not be able to attend the actual ceremony due to serious health reasons.
