Amitabh Bachchan to play Bal Thackeray on big screen?

When Amitabh Bhachchan’s ‘Sarkar'(2005) released, many sources had found similarities between his��character and that of noted figure Balasaheb Thackeray.

At the time, rumours were put to rest by the filmmakers, however now it is reported that Smita Thackeray is making arrangements to produce a biography which will be headed by her son, Rahul Thackeray. It is even said that an unofficial poll was held in which audiences were asked to choose whom they would like to see playing the role of the Indian politician. The ‘Sholay'() actor got the highest votes amongst other contenders, which included the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Manoj Bajpayee.

The project titled ‘Saheb’ has now led to further speculation as to who will essay the role of the late Shiv Sena party founder. As reported by��Deccan Chronicle, a close source revealed, “The makers have approached Amitabh Bachchan for the role but the actor hasn’t given his nod yet. Right now, his schedule is choc-a-bloc.”

The veteran actor recently wrapped up shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming directorial ‘Pink’ which also stars Tapsee Pannu.
