Amitabh Bachchan to play an animated superhero

Actor Amitabh Bachchan is all set to debut as an animated superhero on Disney Channel India. He will be playing a mythical superhero named Astra, on a 52 episode animated series named, ‘Astra Force’. Bachchan is quite excited to play an animated character for the first time.

According to India TV News, ‘Astra Force’ will be an action and adventure cartoon, which will depict the story of a mythical superhero from a faraway planet, who gets stranded on Earth after a space battle. Sharing his excitement on playing Astra, Bachchan said, “I liked the idea. I gave a��nod to this because I was never associated with something like this. It is a great way to connect with children. Astra is a superhero who has physical superpowers. The kids will learn some lessons from this. But it is not going to be preachy.”

‘Astra Force’ will premiere on Disney Channel India in 2017, and Managing Director of Disney India, Siddharth Roy Kapur says that Bachchan will bring an interesting facet to the series. He stated, “At Disney, we believe in showcasing great stories with compelling characters. With Mr.Bachchan associating with ‘Astra Force’, we will be bringing an interesting facet to storytelling in the local animation space.”

Bachchan also has��is own��favorite animated characters. He added, “As a kid I used to play outdoor games, listen to the radio, see Mickey Mouse cartoons, Batman, Laurel and Hardy.”

Bachchan’s next big screen release will be Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Wazir’,��co-starring Farhan Akhtar, ��and is slated to release on 18th December.
