On Sunday night, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan who essays the role of a lawyer inShoojit Sircar’s latest movie, Pink, invited the cast and crew of the movie to his Juhu bungalow, Jalsa, to celebrate after shooting was finallywrapped up.

Apparently, Bachchan saab even gifted the team signed copies of his autobiography ‘To Be Or Not To Be: Amitabh Bachchan’ to mark the occasion. Other attendees on the guest list included, producers Ronnie Lahiri, Shoojit Sircar, director AniruddhaRoy Chowdhury, cast members Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Taring, along with Angad Bedi. The gatherings are quite commonplace, according to Mumbai Mirror, aclose source to the legendary actor revealed, “It’s been a while since he invited any of his films’ team home. He has grown very close to the Pink team and is happy with the way the film has shaped up. After dinner at Jalsa, the party moved to another Bachchan address in Juhu, Pratiksha.”

One of the leads in the upcoming production, actress Taapsee Pannu, expressed how elated she was to receive the invitation from her senior, “It wasn’t a planned dinner so we were surprised to receive a message from Mr Bachchan, inviting us over to Jalsa. We reached at around 8 pm. Abhishek [Bachchan], Aishwarya [Rai Bachchan] and Shweta [Nanda] were also present. It was heartening to see them attend to us personally, making sure that all of us were comfortable, despite having so much help around. After dinner, we visited Pratiksha, where Mr Bachchan showed us his favourite spots around the bungalow.”

When asked if she experienced nervousness shooting with the legendary actor, the actress added, “Now that I think of it, I was nervous but I switched that side of my brain off during the shoot. I had to treat him like any other co-star or else I wouldn’t have been able to perform. It was really impressive to see him rehearse each scene for hours. It was new for me because I’m a spontaneous actor. Injuries, ill health, nothing could stop him. I don’t think I’d have that kind of energy if I was his age.”

On 3rd May, the actor, fondly termed Big B,whose career spans more than four decades will travel to Delhi for the National Awards, where he will be honoured with the Best Actor title for his role in ‘Piku'(2015), another Sircar directorial, which also co-starred actors Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in leading roles.
